Brian Allden : (11 years experience)

Brian graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He joined the Northland Home Healthcare sales team in 1997, focusing on mobility and mobility aid products. Over the years, he has attended several wheelchair seating and related seminars including, the CSMC and international seating conferences in Vancouver & Toronto. Brian strives to ensure that he keeps himself, his therapists and clients abreast of what's new on the market with regard to mobility and mobility aid products. Away from the office, Brian enjoys golf, hockey, tennis and spending time with his family.

Paul Howes: (15 years experience)

Paul joined our Northland Healthcare products team in 1993 after a number of years in the Opthamalic industry. Paul was born and raised in Winnipeg and attended the University of Winnipeg. He is very active in his community as well as within the industry.

He sat on the Board of Directors for the National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association in 2006 and currently serves on the communication committee in an effort to help further the cause of effective disability modification for people in need.

Wileen Mauricio : (22 years experience)

Wileen is a graduate of the St. Boniface School of Nursing, where she earned her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1982. She followed this by obtaining her Orthotic Fitter certification in 1987. She joined the Northland Home Healthcare team in 1998 and is currently responsible for many aspects of the Home Healthcare business, with customer service being the number one goal. Overall, Wileen has spent 21 years in the health care profession. Her outside interests include a variety of volunteer positions with her son's school, hockey team and community club.

Eric Stobie : (8 years experience)

Born in Falkirk, Scotland, Eric came to Northland Home Healthcare in 2000 and worked as a wheelchair technician prior to moving to Home Healthcare sales in 2004. Educated at Linlithgow Primary and Linlithgow Academy, he worked with two petrochemical companies in the laboratory and qualified as an analytical chemist. He then moved to Zambia on a contract, where he worked as a supervisor in the laboratory of a large copper mining company. Once that assignment was completed, he returned to Scotland and worked with a larger refractory manufacturer in the production department as raw materials manager.

Eric emigrated to Canada in 1993 with his wife Sharon who was born in Winnipeg. His main sporting interest away from work is following the Scottish and English professional soccer leagues, and squash.

Mary Young : (21 years experience)

Mary joined Northland's customer service in April 2007, bringing over 20 years' knowledge in related Healthcare experience.

Mary moved to Winnipeg from B.C. in 1982, starting out in the medical industry in 1987, where she spent 18 years in the prosthetic and orthotic business. She then worked for two years in the home healthcare business, gaining valuable knowledge of medical products.

Apart from work, Mary enjoys spending time with her son and new grandson, and her cats. She also enjoys crafts, gardening, summertime outdoor activities and was previously a foster mom for Winnipeg Humane Society kittens.

Karen Shropshire : (13 years experience)

Karen joined Northland in March 2007. Prior to this she worked for a physiotherapy clinic in Thunder Bay for three years as a Medical Secretary. In 1998 she moved to Mississauga where she worked for Invacare Canada for five years. While there, Karen worked in Customer Service and was also the Top End (custom sports wheelchair line) Specialist for Canada. She looked after sponsored athletes, allowing her to be involved in the Paralympics.

After leaving Invacare, Karen worked as a Customer Service Representative, then as a sales representative working with Occupational Therapists and clients for a home health care dealer north of Toronto.

Outside of work, Karen enjoys the outdoors, camping, fishing, dog walking, crafts and spending time with her son.
