The Growth of Northland

Over the past couple of years, Northland Healthcare Products has undergone major growth and development. Wanting to increase the retail side of business, the Company embarked on an ambitious program to add and open new stores in various areas of Winnipeg to better serve this growing aspect of the business.

In April 2003, Northland acquired Tache Medical Supplies in St. Boniface, an established outlet close to St. Boniface Hospital doing a lot of business through referrals from doctors and physiotherapists. Later that same year, the Company opened a new store in the Courts of St. James to cater to the large contingent of seniors that live in the complex and in the nearby Grace Hospital area. A fourth location was added in the Spring of 2004 with the acquisition of Access Ability on Henderson Highway.

"With four stores under the Northland Healthcare banner we have the city nicely covered," says President Brian Rankine. All four stores carry an inventory of home healthcare products ranging from the simplest of daily living items like bandages, braces and supports, and incontinence products, all the way up to power wheelchairs, lift chairs and beds, and scooters.
